Stephanie Kornick is a proud member of the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) and has written for television, film and theatre in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. She started out as an actor in NYC and has a background in improv. Stephanie studied with Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings. She performed with ComedySportz New York.
Stephanie eventually made her way to L.A. where she worked as an assistant in television on shows like Showtime’s United States of Tara, NBC’s Are You There Chelsea? and ABC’s Mistresses. She eventually became a staff writer on Amazon's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-Winning TV show Transparent. She has since cultivated a dynamic career in storytelling, developing and selling original TV projects with esteemed networks and studios such as HBO and Universal Content Productions (UCP). Her biopic feature film Candy Darling is currently in pre-production starring actress Hari Nef. Her theatrical work has also made waves, with her play Small Talk debuting at The Lex Theatre in Los Angeles before captivating audiences at the Greenhouse Theater Center in Chicago.
She generously shares her expertise, having taught TV writing and screenwriting at reputable institutions like Writing Pad and the University of Colorado Denver.
In addition to offering one on one coaching sessions for writers, Stephanie also leads corporate workshops in storytelling and improv and has previously worked with companies such as LinkedIn and Nestlé.
She has an MFA in Screenwriting and Playwriting from Northwestern University and a BA in Musical Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College. Stephanie is repped by Charlie Scully at Gotham Group.
